Essay Topics on Homelessness - Essay Topic Ideas

Essay Topics on Homelessness - Essay Topic IdeasOutlining your essay topics on homelessness will help you put it all into words. Though there are many different ideas and options, the one most important is 'write about what you know'. By writing about what you know you will leave the reader with something that is as real as possible, even if that means using your own experiences or those of people who may know more about the topic. The first essay topic on homelessness you may want to write about is someone who has experienced the loss of a loved one or friend to the homeless population. This may have occurred in the family or the friend's life, or maybe just in the homeless person's own life. Whatever the case may be, the idea here is to use your experience to describe what it was like for the homeless person to lose someone they love, or to think of the homeless person who lost their loved one as nothing more than another member of the homeless community. When writing about a loss of someone that was loved, be sure to write about how you find that person comforting and how you wish you could do something to change that person's situation. If you don't see any point in writing about how you find a lost loved one comforting, it might be time to move on to other essay topics.Essay topics on homelessness can include very personal topics, or something that is related to a particular city or state, but that can apply to all areas of the country. This essay topic is ideal for people who have lived somewhere else, but are now moving to another area. It might also be a good topic for a homecoming reunion, or a business meeting, or any other type of social gathering that would appeal to the homeless person.A popular essay topic on homelessness that can appeal to all types of people is the subject of the homeless who have found their way to various locations, including places where there is no way to survive without the help of someone. These people are often the unsung h eroes of society, because they often stand in the way of people who would take advantage of others, whether through violence or theft.Essay topics on homelessness can involve topics from experiences of a homeless person that have led them to living on the streets, whether they did so willingly or not. Those who are homeless need not stay homeless; there are many ways to find a way to get off the streets and get back on the right track. These topics can include stories of survival stories and those who have been successfully assisted back on their feet.Essay topics on homelessness can be used for various purposes, including academic, personal, and the different topics listed above. In general, one of the greatest reasons to write on this topic is because one who has the proper knowledge can do more to aid in making a difference in the lives of those who are in need than anyone else.

Heroes In The Story Of Beowulf And Grendel - 1252 Words

â€Å"I think a hero is any person really intent on making this a better place for all people.†-Maya Angelou. This quote is very relevant throughout the stories of Beowulf and Grendel. What does it take to be a hero? What type of people are usually heroes? What qualifies anyone to be a hero? These are just a few of the many questions that need to be kept in mind when trying to determine what makes a person a hero. Usually, when people think of the word â€Å"hero† it has a positive connotation, and is often times associated with super powered beings or humans with extraordinary skills, such as Superman or Wonder Woman. According to Merriam-Webster the definition of a hero is, â€Å"a mythological or legendary figure often of divine descent endowed with†¦show more content†¦Let me live in greatness/ And courage, or here in this hall welcome/ My death! (Raffel, pg. 29), Beowulf claims that his only reason for being there is to defeat Grendel and to â€Å"win th e goodwill†, that is hard to believe. Grendel is basically an indestructible evil giant with razor sharp teeth and huge claws. This is probably one of Beowulf’s greatest challenges. What better way to gain fame and glory than by killing his greatest monster yet? Your actions are things that you do to be a hero, but your motives and intentions determine if those actions actually matter. For example, two children want to help an elderly woman find her dogs. There is a cash reward for $100 per dog. They each find one dog. They are both awarded the reward money. The first child helps find the dog because she loves dogs and thinks no dog should be lost and away from there owner. The second child helps find the dog because he just wants $100 dollars. Who is the hero in this case? They both found a dog, so what does it matter, right? The story of Beowulf portrays Grendel as this ignorant, bloodthirsty killing machine. Grendel s hatred began, /...the monster relished his savage war/ On the Danes, keeping the bloody feud/ Alive, seeking no peace, offering/ No truce, accepting no settlement, no price/ In gold or land, and paying the living/ For one crime only with another.
